Day 67

Amy: Right, so we’re investigating this room today?

Jim: Yeah, figured we should probably tackle these a day at a time since we’ve got other things to do outside of exploring this ship.

Amy: Wouldn’t it be nice if we didn’t…

Jim: I agree, but dereliction of duty would probably give them cause to come down here, and do you see any way of hiding this ship?

Wraith: This one does have stealth capabilities if the need arises.

Amy: What does a colony ship need to have stealth for?

Wraith: This one is not sure.

Jim: Not sure?

Wraith: This one only detects the capabilities of this vessel, it cannot explain what its intended purpose was.

Jim: Is this because of a memory wipe or because you cannot tell us?

Wraith: It appears to be due to a blank spot in this one’s memory, this one possesses memory of the crew and time this vessel arrived to this Galaxy but beyond that this one cannot say much for clearance of access and memory.

Amy: Great, that gets us a whole lot of nothing.

Wraith: If you would like, this one could give you a list of all features and equipment present on this vessel.

Jim: Save it, I have a feeling we’re not gonna understand half of what you’d say anyways. Better to process these things one at a time.

Wraith: Understood.

Amy: Now then, let’s see what’s behind door number one… oh wow.

Jim: Lots of containers in here, wonder what this is for?

Wraith: You are currently in the Medical Bay, the containers you see are in fact medipods.

Amy: Made for Faar’shar… no wonder these things are so big.

Wraith: Do other species possess technology like this?

Jim: Depends on the species, I’m sure the Thulu’s have cooked up something like this but it may not be as advanced. Mind giving me the rundown on their capabilities?

Wraith: The medipods are capable of a wide range of medicinal procedures, from curing common ailments to even tissue regeneration.

Jim: What about limb regeneration?

Wraith: It is possible, but for those more complicated procedures members of the crew must submit themselves to a bioscan.

Amy: I’m assuming that’s because those procedures need to be tailored to the patient’s own body correct?

Wraith: Yes, regenerating an arm that is too big or too small would prove to be troublesome in the long run.

Amy: I can see that. How does it work though? Nanomachines?

Wraith: You would be correct.

Jim: Well that doesn’t seem too advanced, no offense of course.

Amy: Well I mean nanomachines aren’t all that hard to make, its the coordination and programming of them that's the tricky part. I know the Thulu’s and Nereids have gotten around that through the use of psychic control, but so far no one else has figured it out.

Jim: So the Faar’shar are capable of that kind of programming huh… that is pretty impressive.

Wraith: It is a fairly simple process for Artificial Intelligence, have none of the other races managed to develop such technology?

Jim: Well AI was developed way back in the 2200s, but after the Automaton Uprising there is a Galactic pact to forbid development of AI until further notice.

Amy: Yeah, but it's not like we’ve stopped developing or anything. Humans at least have taken convenience and accessibility to the max. It’s pretty easy to use any form of Human tech these days, and let’s not even get started on our weapons.

Jim: Yeah, simple compared to most species, but strong enough to hold its own against any fleet out there.

Amy: Well I mean do you really need to get all that complicated firing shit through space? Hit them hard and hit them fast, usually works things out.

Wraith: I see… then are Humans more primitive compared to other species?

Amy: Not really, we just like to cut the bullshit. Though there are the Aesir…

Jim: Yeah but they’re a bit too far gone to call completely human anymore.

Amy: Eh, they’ve got some crazy tech though. Too bad most of it is designed only for their use.

Jim: Considering how they are, I’m not really surprised.

Amy: Let's move on from other species shall we? Time to learn more about the Faar’Shar.

Jim: Right, Wraith, mind giving us the rundown on everything in here?

Wraith: Certainly.
