Day 89

Amy: Can’t believe we’re back in here.
Jim: Well we should probably make sure there aren’t anymore Verakore lurking in here before getting too comfortable.
Amy: Would have been a pretty good idea to get me a battle frame too then, don’t you think?
Jim: Well someone wanted to tag along at the last minute.
Amy: Someone has to make sure you don’t die. I swear every time I leave you alone you come close to death.
Jim: I’ll keep that in mind next time.
Amy: Next time huh, you say that like it gonna happen.
Jim: Given our recent luck? I’m about 75 percent sure a meteor is gonna hit the Tower tomorrow.
Wraith: The odds of that ha—
Jim: Sarcasm.
Wraith: Ah.
Amy: Anyways, are you picking up anything Wraith?
Wraith: Negative, but this one recommends caution.
Jim: Way ahead of you there, still not used to shooting from my wrist though.
Amy: Different recoil?
Jim: Not as satisfying no, nothing like firing a Sparrow and feeling that kick
Amy: Never took you for a gun nut.
Jim: Just appreciate the feeling is all.
Amy: Anyways doesn’t look like there is any sign of activity in the Science Lab area. Place it wrecked to hell though.
Jim: Blame the Berserker for that. He was the crane and I was the wrecking ball.
Amy: What an old analogy.
Wraith: But fitting.
Jim: Guess we can finally check out the rest of this facility though.
Amy: Yeah…
Jim: Hey, it’s alright. I’m here with you and that way out of here isn’t closing anytime soon.
Amy: *Sigh* Yeah I know, just a case of the nerves, let’s get going.
Wow, this place is a lot more… open don’t you think?
Jim: I’ll say, I can barely make out the end of this place.
Wraith: You are currently located in the main archives room.
Jim: I thought the archives were located with the AI core?
Wraith: Those archives pertained to any new information discovered in the facility, the archives here detail the entire history of the Andromeda Galaxy.
Amy: Seems kind of redundant don’t you think? I mean we have you to talk to about that.
Wraith: This one has a general knowledge of the Faar’Shar’s own history, but does not possess the information that this facility contains.
Jim: I guess that makes sense. Don’t really need a ship AI knowing about history.
Amy: Still, this is a huge find! Can you imagine the amount of stuff that we can learn here? Let me try accessing some of these files……. Oh come on!
Wraith: It appears that not even the Master Key will give you enough authority to access the files.
Jim: I wonder why? It’s just history.
Wraith: Far more than history Jim, this archive could contain the blueprints to Faar’Shar and Verakore technologies alike.
Jim: Could contain?
Wraith: This one is not sure of the contents, this one cannot access it due to its protections.
Amy: Damn… what they hell do we do with this then?
Jim: We could report this to the Coalition, but… I’m not really sure what they’d do with it either.
Amy: Probably try to get in a co-opt most of the tech here, anyone out there would do that.
Wraith: Doing so will most likely disrupt the balance of this Galaxy.
Amy: Yeah, I was thinking of that as well.
Jim: Yeah but think of what we could do with all of this tech, if we found the blueprints to the medipods back on the ship we could make serious leaps in medicine.
Amy: Yeah but do we really want to progress based on some other galaxy’s tech? A galaxy that broke itself?
Wraith: This one ponders such thoughts as well. The reason for the Faar’Shar’s isolation could be due to a desire to let this Galaxy progress on it’s own, to create things that are unique to its species.
Jim: That… does make sense.
Amy: Would be better to think this over for a bit. There is no doubt people are gonna reverse engineer something from the Faar’Shar, but to copy them entirely… I dunno if that’s such a good idea.
Jim: Yeah, for now we’ll keep this a secret. Shame we can’t read any of it though.
Amy: Yeah well we’ve got plenty of other toys to play with in the meantime.
Jim: Going to do some more treasure hunting eh?
Amy: Oh you know it.
